For more than 40 years Intraterm has integrated work and play, helping students recognize the elements of a balanced life.
During the one-week program, students participate in experiential learning offerings that encourage intellectual risk-taking and adventure. Intraterm is a welcome break from the regular classroom routine, encourages students from different grade levels to get to know one another, and is an opportunity for teachers to offer mini-courses, often in an area of special interest to them.

Intraterm is ungraded, which encourages students to stretch academic boundaries and try new activities. The program offers intensive experiential classes and trips in a variety of settings. Students choose from special courses, field studies, internships, community service, and travel, encouraging personal growth beyond the classroom curriculum. Annual participation in Intraterm is a graduation requirement.

Recent trips included exploring New Orleans, hut-to-hut hiking in West Marin, adventuring in Kauai, experiencing New York City, cultural immersion in San Miguel de Allende, surfing in Santa Cruz, and learning about the history and tradition of the Southwest in Sante Fe. Book making, Latin dance, rock climbing, Taiko drumming, peer training by the Anti-Defamation League, and glass blowing were among the more than 20 local classes offered last year. The Intraterm catalogue changes each year.
The best part of Intraterm was getting to know people and teachers outside of the classroom
